OUI/DWI/DUI attorney Wayne Foote was born in 1950, in Melrose, Massachusetts. He was in the U.S. Army for eight years as an electronic intelligence specialist and Russian linguist. He attained the rank of Staff Sergeant and received an honorable discharge. He is a graduate of Colby College, Waterville, Maine, where he was a graduate of magna cum laude with a history degree in 1983. He was then elected to the Phi Beta Kappa honor society at that juncture. He got his Juris Doctor degree in 1986 from the University of Maine School of Law.
Wayne received Certificates of Achievement for successfully finishing the National College for DUI Defense, Inc.'s Summer Sessions in 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2005 and 2006, Mastering Scientific Evidence in DUI/DWI Cases in 2002 and 2005, Florida International University’s Breath Analysis Forensic Workshop in 2004, and National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys’ DWI training session in 2005. Mr. Foote is also certified by the USDOT as a Maintenance Technician and Operator for the Intoxilyzer 5000. In 2007, Maine OUI/DWI/DUI defense lawyer became the first and only attorney in Maine who is both Board Certified in DUI Defense Law by the National College for DUI Defense, Inc.
Wayne Foote has been a Sustaining Member of the National College for DUI Defense, Inc. and the College’s State Delegate for the State of Maine for quite some time. He is a general member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Mr. Foote is also a prior Vice President and past Director of the Maine Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and also a Charter Member. Mr. Foote teaches seminars to lawyers on the topics of OUI, DWI and DUI defense, state and federal criminal defense and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
OUI/DWI/DUI attorney Wayne Foote has spoken at the University of Maine in graduate level courses on the topics of scientific evidence and the proper use of expert witnesses in criminal DUI defense matters. Mr. Foote is allowed to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, the United States District Court for the District of Maine, the State of Maine and the Passamaquoddy Tribal Court.
